I probably should have written this story on June 8th. That way I could have stolen Samara’s famous line “seven days," except it’s probably copyrighted and she’ll come after me through my TV if I did. No matter, the fact still remains that we have only three days left of our 2005-1006 school year: today (Tuesday), tomorrow (Wednesday), and the day after that (Thursday). I think it would be quite appropriate for me to shout a big, “Oh My Gosh” and do the Scottish reel. Yes, it’s that great.

Seniors line up for one of their last activities as Logan students, the annual Senior Breakfast. Tomorrow, many seniors will go to Santa Cruz for the Senior Picnic. On Friday, they practice for graduation from 8 a.m to 1 p.m.; attendance at practice is mandatory for participation in their last activity, graduation in the Judsen Taylor stadium at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.
But we can’t really enjoy ourselves yet. Today we must begin the run through the gauntlet of second period finals. But if you suffered a momentary lapse in judgment at the beginning of the year and agreed to take a first period like I did, you’ll have two finals to contend with. (On a side note: Ms. Garcia if you are reading this I hope you know how much I enjoy your first period English class. I have no regrets about waking up at 6 AM and getting to school at 7:13. Really, it’s “all good”). I guess if you were a senior you would be gone by today… unless, perhaps, there was a little glitch when it comes to signing out of certain classes. Anyways, on Wednesday we have finals for periods 3, 7, and 5. Finally, on Thursday, we have finals for periods 4, 8, and 6. If you haven’t seen the signs noting the schedule for three days of finals, then you’re in luck; I shall provide you with that information.

I’ve never really understood why we had to take finals on our last days of school. Why must our parting memories for the school year be so horrible? Why does this ‘institution’ wish to mar our entrance into the glorious months of summer vacation? I don’t have the answers; I wish I did, but as the saying goes, “no pain, no gain”. With that rather ‘cheerful’ note I just want to wish everybody luck. Happy cramming… I mean… reviewing.
