The highly anticipated Call of Duty - Modern Warfare 2 is finally here and is quickly taking over online servers as the game to be reckoned with.

The latest in the infamous Call of Duty franchise, "Modern Warfare 2" has already been regarded by gamers as one of the hottest games, EVER. You can't blame them for that assumption, especially with an action packed campaign, a Cooperative game mode called Special Ops, and online play where all hell brakes loose.

In campaign, you can play as different characters and use different weapons to destroy your enemies anyway you want to. You can stab an enemy in the back, you can blow his head off with a silenced shotgun, or pop a couple shots into your enemy’s heart with a sniper that has thermal vision. If that’s not your style, then you can drop some bombs on a building filled with bad guys. The campaign takes place at different locations like Rio de Janeiro, Afghanistan, Siberia, and even the capital of the United States.

Co-op uses independent missions similar to the way “The Mile High Club”, was in Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare. The missions are all from the campaign, but they don’t necessarily follow the campaign the same way it does in single player, because Special Ops has cooperative play. Players can snowmobile race down a mountain with enemies high on their trail, snip dozens of enemies from atop a fastfood resteraunt, and my favorite: one player is racing on foot to a saftey spot while taking out enemies, and the other player is riding high in an AC-130 bomber plane providing air support.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 has brand new online gameplay that features new kill streaks, weapons and game modes. In CoD 4 MW, players could only use UAVs, Air Strikes, and Attack Helicopters, but in CoD MW 2, there are 15 different kill streaks you can use. Kill streaks range from 3 kills for a UAV, to 11 kills for a Chopper Gunner, to 25 kills for the ultimate in online ownage: a Tactical Nuke. Players can also choose from a range of personalized name titles and emblems. Such titles include humorous names such as “My ‘lil Pwny”, which features a little pony. Unlocking different challenges unlocks different titles and emblems.

If your looking for a video game for the holidays, than try Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is a sure fire win.
