Editor's Note: Two of our writers went to see this movie. After the overview see their opinions below.
Movie Overview:
A teenage boy named Nathan Harper, played by Taylor Lautner, who has had weird dreams as long as he can remember. One day he comes across a photograph on what he and his across-the-street neighbor, Karen, payed by Lily Collins, believes to be is a missing persons website. The photograph was of himself as a boy and this made him wonder who exactly who his real parents are. The woman who raised him as her own son Mara Harper, played by Maria Bello, confirmed to him the harsh reality that her and his believed to be dad, Kevin Harper, Jason Isaacs, were not his real parents.
Before they could explain anything to Nathan, the people he thought were his parents are killed by a team of trained killers and he is left alone with Karen on a search for some help and answers to his questions about his real parents. As they are on the run, the CIA and the trained killers are only steps behind them. They knew they could not trust anyone, not even the CIA, who don’t seem to be too concerned about Nathan or his safety. They are after what Nathan’s real father stole from them.
Reviews:
Maria Saldana: The actor playing Nathan Harper, Taylor Lautner, is quick to take his shirt off, which automatically won over the ladies in the theater. But as those who loved him in the Twilight movies, they learned that he doesn’t have all that many facial expressions. He cried when he needed to, but he just seems like a robot in a good-looking guy’s body. For all the other actors, they did their job very well. I wasn’t so taken in by the story, but it had enough action to interest me and to keep me awake throughout the entire movie. The ending disappointed me with its lack of closure.
Amandeep Singh: The main character Nathan Harper, who was played by Taylor Lautner, did an okay job, in my opinion. He may have “wow”-ed the women with his looks and body features but he could have done better with his performance. It wasn’t as good as his performances in is his previous movies such as The Twilight Saga. Overall this movie was okay, but I wouldn’t encourage anyone to watch it in theaters because of the actor’s performances and the story line. One thing I did love about the movie is the selection of cars they used in the movie, one car that was used was a 2012 BMW E93, which is also known as a BMW M3 hardtop convertible.
